Where can I find an ultrasonic dog whistle sound that you can play on a PC?

ultrasonic dog whistle

All I get is people whistling or the mosquito ringtone (only children can hear). I’d even consider ultrasonic dog repeller.

Can you hear "ultrasonic" pest repellents?

ultrasonic dog trainer

I’m not asking if the human race as a whole can hear them, I just want to know how many of YOU can hear them. I’m dogsitting right now, and this person has a couple Viatek ultrasonic pest repellers. I can most definitely hear them, and they’re quite annoying. BEEEEEEEP……..BEEEEEEEP……BEEEEEEEP…..but VERY high-pitched, and with a very steady beat. I KNOW they are the pest repellers, because it’s louder when i put my ear up to them. I had no idea what the sound was when I first walked in. In reminds me in a way of the sound a muted TV makes when you turn it on.

I have heard the ultrasonic dog trainer thing at work, the PetAgree, but I always figured the batteries were going dead, and thus the pitch was lower. These things are NOT going dead, as they are plugged into the wall.

So…can anyone else hear those types of things, or am I just some sort of freak of nature? o.O
Just though I might add…I was curious, and I recorded it on Audacity with my computer, and it says it’s approximately 33 kHz. Good lord, I had no idea. And I also realized – I can’t -always- hear it. I was blasting Les Mis soundtrack as high as I could all day today, and I can’t hear it at all at the moment. Its particularly loud and obnoxious in the morning.

And the ultrasonic dog trainer at work – that’s even high pitched, I wonder just how high it is?

My dog is an excessive licker. I've been told by my Vet to try a deterrent spray. Recommendations?

dog deterrent

He continues to lick his wiener, along with all the dogs at the dog park. My Vet says this is because my dog is sweet tasting down there. My dog has already got two infection of the penis because of the licking from other dogs. So I need a recommendation for a non toxic, non alcohol, deterrent spray.

I’ve already tried a natural spray through Petsmart, but my dog just enjoyed licking it.
Where can I buy it?
Sorry, I think my wording was off. OTHER dogs keep licking MY dogs’ penis causing MY dog to have infections.

What are some dog items that can go on a keychain?

dog deterrent

I supose its a weird question, but I want to have small items that I can put on a keychain and make a "dog" keychain for portable use in my purse.

I already have a tick twister, small flashlight, dog deterrent spray.
Do they make other interesting products that are small and keychain friendly for dogs?
Just added a whistle and a clicker! Thank you!
Ohh, a poo bag is a good idea too

Does a dog pee deterrent spray actually work?

dog deterrent

I’ve been having a difficult time training my new dog to go potty outdoors and she’s already made some boo boos on my carpet. I don’t want her to find them again and keep peeing in those spots

Hunter-cats and how chili powder/ Cat Repellers/ dried Orange may affect other animals coming to the Garden?

dog deterrent

I received some advice last week on how to best deal with 2cats (now 3) that reign in my neighbourhood and are killing other animals which are just disappearing from my garden and affecting the wildlife….

Since my question, my neighbour has decided to bring another cat! and the morning rounds, apart from noisy, are too distressing to watch, so had to stop feeding the birdies until I try the deterrent ways you all suggested but… would Chili powder / dried orange / electronic cat repellers prevent squies, foxes or birds from coming also? I would not like to harm them not stop them from coming…I do not like to buy pets or restricting their freedom in any way but I love having them coming and going in my garden… Appreciate your advice!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I was also too late to chose the Best Answer, and cannot find a way of letting those who participated then know the comments I leave below (just in case, any of them find my question again! :)
I was lucky you all were there at the time. Many thanks for all your wonderful advice and jokes. I was dumbfounded by Thomas synchronistic events that morning and relished reading about the experience + do understand the need to tackle rats and the like but why not releasing the cats during the night, when these other creatures operate? +Dogs used to bring caws to the butchers hundreds or thousands of years ago but evolved by human contact, as cats could and are doing, why not use rat traps or venom instead? What makes some cats follow their killing instinct while other cats do not bother? +A tip for dog lovers: a program called the Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan – SKY3(Freeview11) around 6-7pm. He says he trains humans and rehabilitates dogs and gives fascinating insights into how owner’s energy affects (balances or distorts) animal behaviour. Thanks again >

How to keep the cats out of my yard?

dog deterrent

No offense to cat lovers but i seem to have about 6 to 10 cats from somewhere in the neighborhood that like to antagonize my large dog at night. These cats will start hanging out in my front yard generally 2 hours after it gets dark and will continue in various group sizes throughout the night. my dog has his own room where he spends most of his time…this room has windows facing the front yard and when he hears/sees/smells these feline bullies he just goes crazy with the barking and trying to get through the windows to them. I have scared the cats off on numerous occasions but they come back if not that night for sure the next night. The cats are not around at all during the day. I can tell the way they group up in the yard and the way they are all facing the house in the direction of my dog’s windows that they are there for one purpose only…..To irritate and antagonize! Does anyone know of something that would work as a cat deterrent or something that would keep them out of my yard? Is there something they don’t like the smell of ? I have been considering chaining my dog up outside for a night or two but i am thinking it might be bad for a cat or two or the cats might step it up a notch and aggravate my dog even closer up knowing he’s on a limited chain.

What kind of dog should I get?

dog deterrent

I am a full time nursing student at the moment, so I am not planning on getting a puppy just yet…But I am trying to do plenty of research to find out what breed of dog is best. Of the surveys/dog breed selector quizzes I have taken, they keep pointing to Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Anatolian Shepherd, German Shepherd, Mastiff…

Here is what I am looking for:

A dog that I can leave alone while at work, with access to the outdoors and indoors. I plan on exercising the dog with walks and playing. And I plan on taking the time needed when I first bring the puppy home in order to form a bond with it.

A large dog that can will be a deterrent to strangers, yet not be very aggressive or overly friendly.

One that will get along with my small Chihuahua and my cat.

I do plan on taking any breed I get to obedience classes for socialization and proper training. Among working with the dog in general.

Above all else, I want an excellent companion.

I will be an RN, in my own home with a large fenced in yard, and more than likely single.

Any help you can provide me will be most appreciated.

Also, I have owned a german shepherd/chow mix, lab, cockerpoo, chihuahua, poodle, bloodhound…just to give a little insight on my dog ownership background.

English (Victornian) Bulldog allergies?

dog deterrent

I have a Victorian Bulldog, female 10 months old.

She has three dime size patches on her left side missing fur and she seems to scratch at lot a times of the day meaning, it;s like she is going crazy scratching her face or side for several minutes before she stops, then she good for several hours or even all day. She tends to scratch more in the morning and before bed.

When have changed our laundry deterrent we use for our bed linens, we have switched dog food brands. But nothing seems to work.

Questions:
How long after we switch food, laundry deterrent before we switch again?

What have you found that helped your bulldog?

Her great grandmother was an American Bulldog and we also have a female boxer. Other then the itching and a few bare spots there’s no other symptoms. The bare spots have been there several months.
