There is a reason that most cities have ordinances against noise pollution AND barking. It is because it is disruptive and keeps people awake! Every person deserves a good nights rest and dogs shouldn’t dictate that. Also, excessive barking is a symptom of them being depressed and needing attention.

Where did you place it? I am curious about getting one.
By Teenflirt1987, March 25, 2008 @ 7:16 pm
people talk and disrupt other peoples sleep. What would you do if that person was talking to you?! shut the door, wear ear plugs. Dogs have just as much right to bark as people do to talk. It’s a way of communication. I work at a shelter, and if these were actually a good idea then we would use them. The best way to keep a dog from excessivly barking is to re-enforce the “quiet” command. When you catch the dog being quiet say “good quiet” and give him/her a treat. It works and it is humane.

We put it about 15 feet up on the back of our house, facing the dog directly. So it’s no more than 30 feet away from the dog at all times, in direct view. We’ve tried it on the audible mode as well as the silent, and it simply does NOTHING. The dog is out there barking as I type. Irresponsible owners, rude, inconsiderate jerks. We’re in the process right now of taking them to court, and even though 4 other neighbors have complained to them, they do nothing to change it. Stupid people.

Teenflirt- you obviously don’t have children who need sleep. Parents can’t wear ear plugs or we wouldn’t hear the kids if something happened. I can’t believe that you, an employee of a shelter, wouldn’t be more supportive of training the dog not to bark. Sure, give him a treat might work, but if not, you have to try other methods.

Its good to know you value barking dogs over people. That says a lot about you. I love dogs too, but guess what, there is NO WAY that I wouldn’t address if their behavior was bothering other people. So I should just re-arrange MY life, to accomadate dogs barking at all hours? Thats ridiculous. You don’t live in my neighborhood, and you have no idea how much sleep I have lost because of it. It has physically made me sick b/c I am run down.

I am extreamly supportive of training a dog not to bark.if you arn’t willing to train your dog, then you shouldn’t have one. All dogs need to be taught just as people do while they are growing up. Don’t get get me wrong old dogs CAN learn new tricks! My golden is proof of that. I just don’t think the dog scliencer is the best humane method.

too bad that it only has a 30 day money back garrentee. im sure it takes longer than 30 days to train a dog to stop barking with this product.

It is truly astonishing how inconsiderate they are. Even with the displeasure of your neighbors, it just doesn’t make a difference. Where do people learn such a disregard for others? I hope you have peace and quiet soon abbablabba!

Uhh most of these people are talking about OTHER peoples dogs. I cant control how my neighbor raises his/her dog and if its gonna bark at 3 am Im gonna do something about it. Just like if my neighbor was blasting Metallica at 3 am, Im gonna call the cops. I have 3 neighbors whose dogs bark very excessively. I might try this product.

People talk?! Barking and talking occur at very different noise levels and very different speeds. Barking sounds like yelling, not like talking. Nobody would accept a human who stood yards from their home and yelled all day, and they shouldn’t have to accept dogs that do it. I feel sorry for the dogs because they bark when they’re lonely, and I believe the owners should be punished for their ignorance (both towards the dog and the neighbours). But short of that, this tool might be all there is.

is there a version that works on redneck Harly owners?
By Tujvrqxote, October 6, 2008 @ 1:31 am
First try to talk peacefully and politely to the dog owner… when they don’t handle it well, start speaking to your neighbours. Then make up a petition, ask them to sign it (your name must be first) send it to your local police/council. You have to speak politely to the owner FIRST. This establishes credability for you.

I purchased the Dog Silencer Pro about 3 weeks ago. I have this in my back yard for my own dog. I have noticed a huge difference already. My dog only barks occasionally now. I really like the idea that this device is based on sound. a high pitched sound sends out when she dog barks. I would highly recommend this product to dog owners.

By Mabika, May 31, 2009 @ 7:12 am
I am currently work late nite, because my neighbors’s dog has been barking for few hours !!!
The most humane to teach this dog to keep quiet is to use this product !!!
By bizarre1966, August 10, 2009 @ 3:38 pm
hey teenflirt, is there such a thing as a dumb dog?my roomate’s poodle already had lessons and he still barks needlessly.he doenst know wny tricks either, he doesnt come forward when you call him. I disagree that pets welfare should be given priority over humans, you work with animals so you should know that the human is the master.
By bizarre1966, August 11, 2009 @ 2:29 am
has anyone actually tried this product?does it work?
By lisalisa49, November 30, 2009 @ 11:33 pm
Yea…but does it work on a real dog? Anyone can make a cartoon dog stop barking. I wanna c a real real demo. This is a terrible ad for this product.
There’s a part of me that thinks this cannot possibly work because there’s not even a real dog in the commercial.
By zrectnat, January 10, 2010 @ 5:58 am

By nergis65, January 30, 2010 @ 5:03 am

By nergis65, January 30, 2010 @ 5:07 am
Did the company refund your money for the Dog Silencer Pro?
Did they give any reasons why it may not of worked? I am at my wits end and saving to buy this product.

Sometimes stupidity deserves diploma. Dog barking is a natural process. But, of course humans want to take control on everything. Egoism is the word for it.
