dog deterrent
He continues to lick his wiener, along with all the dogs at the dog park. My Vet says this is because my dog is sweet tasting down there. My dog has already got two infection of the penis because of the licking from other dogs. So I need a recommendation for a non toxic, non alcohol, deterrent spray.
I’ve already tried a natural spray through Petsmart, but my dog just enjoyed licking it.
Where can I buy it?
Sorry, I think my wording was off. OTHER dogs keep licking MY dogs’ penis causing MY dog to have infections.

I supose its a weird question, but I want to have small items that I can put on a keychain and make a "dog" keychain for portable use in my purse.
I already have a tick twister, small flashlight, dog deterrent spray.
Do they make other interesting products that are small and keychain friendly for dogs?
Just added a whistle and a clicker! Thank you!
Ohh, a poo bag is a good idea too

Moving to the city with dogs.?
Hi everyone. I will be moving to a small city in northern SK. Can. Its a nice house with a fenced wooden yard. I have 4 dogs who are very well socialized and love people and other dogs. One is a 2 year old intact male cattle dog, one is a 6 month old intact male bull mastiff one is a 12 year old spayed staffy mix and one is a 3 year old rat terrier. I do utility obedience with my cattle dog and personal protection training. All my dogs are very well trained and well behaved. I also have a 6 year old bearded dragon. 2 female spayed indoor only cats and 2 snakes, 2 male pet rats, and breeding/feeder mice. My dogs are fine with cats that are introduced properly however, if a cat is found on our property by my cattle dog or jumps the fence he will catch and kill it, he will come off it as soon as i tell him however, i cant always supervise them when they go outside. They will never be out when i am not home and are all kennel trained. This dog kills foxes and badgers and coyotes so, a cat would be really easy, and he has killed farm cats.
How can i make cats stay out of the yard? is there some sort of deterrent that i can use? Thanks.
Also, what can i expect from dogs when you move? How do you get them back into a routine? What "misbehavior" is acceptable when a big stress like that happens?

My dogs love the delicacy of poop. I am so grossed out I want to puke thinking about it.
Dog poop. Horse poop. Their own poop. What gives??
I’ve tried the poop powder deterrent. They are just over a year old and this problem was evident as puppies, disappeared, and now it has resurfaced.
What do I do to stop this disgusting habit?? Even if I take them to a park off leash, they hunt it out and eat it.
I dont want to punish them and not let them run by leashing them, but this has got to stop!!

repel dog
I love animals, so I am not going to mace a dog, or shoot a dog (i dont even carry a gun) Can somebody turn me onto a device or a gadget that has a proven track record of repelling dogs. I am not going to be able to avoid the confrontation with dogs, (because of asshole irresponsible pet owners who dont make car payments either,) So I am hoping that there is a way to do it with out the use of force, because when I am forced to hurt a dog, their owner will have to deal with ONE PISSED OFF BAD ASS INDIVIDUAL!! And I dont want that, I am a nice repo man, your friendly neighborhood repo man!! Thanks in advance for any help on this!

I’m looking for a solid deterrent/protection trainable dog. I’ve narrowed my search down to either a rottweiler or czech shepherd. I’ve also narrowed it to either this breeding CK’06 Bodo v Schloss Hexental x DIABLESSE v SCHLOSS HEXENTAL from Schloss Hexental in Belgium or a puppy from a litter out of Jinopo. I was also looking at Dargo Aykmar a 1 year old czech shepherd from the same breeder.
From a breed standpoint, I like both the GSD and rottweiler with the rottie taking a slight lead if I were just going to get another pet. I’m looking overseas because there isn’t much offered in the US anymore other then watered down show crap.
Since I can’t afford to make trips to Belgium and Czech to physically look at the dogs. I was hoping someone might know about these kennels/dog breedings and have some input.
Dutchman, I know what you mean, I like the pz lines as well. I know alot of Jinopo studs were sold to various people in the US. If I get one, I’m banking on Jiri’s reputation and others that I’ve talked to who have gotten dogs from him that I would actually get a good pup or like I said I really like the Dargo dog.

I’ve read that pit bulls are different from other dogs in two respects:
(1) They’ve been bred for sustained attacks. Other dogs mount what’s called a "blitzkrieg" attack: in fast, out fast to reassess the situation. A typical PB attack, by contrast, lasts 15 minutes.
(2) In breeding "game" dogs, the breeders have created dogs that get an endorphin rush from pain. This means that it’s very hard to stop an attack once it starts–pain is not a deterrent.
I’ve also read that traditional PBs were culled for inappropriate aggression. Because handlers had to be able to pull the dogs out of the ring in the midst of a fight, any dog that snapped at a human–under any provocation–was immediately destroyed. The modern dogs aren’t culled that way, so they’re human-aggressive as well as dog-aggressive.
These three traits make the dogs more dangerous than other breeds.
Are these things true? If so, how come they’re never mentioned in newspaper stories on breed bans?
Points (1) and (2) address the genetic inheritance of the dog. They don’t have anything to do with whether the dog seems "sweet" when it’s not attacking. Can anyone speak to the truth of these two points?
I just found an online copy of the article I read about this (several years ago). It’s
http://www.city-journal.org/html/9_2_scared_of_pit.html
Start reading a little over halfway through for the science.

I don’t want snakes near my home or in my yard. My neighbor just found a 3 foot rattler and killed it. Many other neighbors in my suburban spot have also found snakes in their yards. I am not about to kill anything- because I would never even get that close-and I am not the killer type… but I would love to know if there is a simple, easy, natural SAFE way to deter snakes from my yard. I have kids & dogs, so it has to be safe for them too. I saw some pellets, but I don’t knwo if that is a gimmick or if anyone has tried them and they really work…THANKS!!
Okay, to some of the posters below: I said I do not like snakes, but I would NEVER kill one and I’m looking for a HUMANE option to deter them. Please answer with intelligence and relevance to the question.
