dog deterrent
My cat just went missing and my family seem convinced that coyotes took him. I’m not so sure. I live in northern california in a rural area on about 15 acres of land, we have neighbors but few and far between. I heard coyotes were noisy, and living here for 8 months I have never heard them even once. Also I have read that they prefer living on the outskirts of suburban areas because there is more food. My neighbor has had a free-range peacock for years and its been unharmed.
It seems unlikely to me, but some feedback from experience would be helpful.
In case I do have coyotes, I have a couple big protective neutered male dogs, around 100lbs each that I keep outside during the day time. Could I walk them around my property to pee on things as a scent deterrent? Or can coyotes not smell how big a dog is by its urine? The last thing I want is to attract some more to kill my other cats.
How could I personally see if I have any on my property? I was just thinking of parking my car in the field at dusk and sitting there with the engine and lights off on a sort of ‘stake out’ to see if I can spot some.
If I find that I have them, could I put food in a clearing and sit there at night like a statue waiting for them to show and then kill them with a .22 rifle? Would I probably need a license or something?
One more question, are they dangerous to my dogs. I know that my two dogs are much bigger and one of them at least is pretty aggressive, but I also know coyotes hunt in packs.

dog deterrent
I live in a small community and I have neighbors to the north of me who have I think 5 dogs. Our city code for animals is that you can only have 3 dogs, unless you have a shelter license. I have a shelter/rescue license, but I only have my 2 dogs. I don’t know if my neighbors have one or not. The difficult part about them is that they let their dogs come and go out of their house and they bark constantly when I am out in my backyard, so much that I HATE going in my backyard because that’s all they do. Its a see through fence, bout 4 feet high. I think i’m a good neighbor. I don’t let my dogs bark constantly. I yell at them to be quiet because I don’t want that to happen to me. But my neighbors never yell at their dogs to be quiet. So I’ve tried spraying them with water to get them to stop. Doesn’t work. My other neighbors even went to the point of putting up a 6 foot privacy fence because the dogs would bark at them as well. I went and bought a Dazer 2. Its a ultrasonic repelling dog Deterrent Trainer. Produces a discomforting but not harmful high powered sound, audible to dogs but not to humans. It helps stop the approach of unwanted dogs at up to 20 feet. Also a useful aid in training dogs. I’ve used it on my dogs to train them, it works. I used it on the neighbor dogs and the neighbor saw me use it. I tried to explain to him it doesn’t hurt them, but he didn’t care. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to call the cops on them for being a nuisance. I’d really like to put up a privacy fence, but I don’t know if my landlords would go for that, plus it costs money. Any suggestions or advice would be great. I’m open to everything. Thanks!

dog deterrent
I have been listening to my neighbor’s dogs bark for 2 hours straight now and I am getting desperate. Has anyone tried these products that emit a high pitched sound when the dogs bark? I have heard mixed reviews and they are expensive, so I thought I’d get a couple of opinions/recommendations before I spend .
Also – for the record – I am a dog LOVER. I have a (very well behaved and QUIET) German Shepard. I like my neighbors, so I don’t want to do anything like call the cops or start an argument over this. I just want a little peace and quiet. I bought my house because of the back yard, and ever since these dogs moved in next door, neither me or my dog have been able to enjoy it.
Thanks for any suggestions!

I don’t want snakes near my home or in my yard. My neighbor just found a 3 foot rattler and killed it. Many other neighbors in my suburban spot have also found snakes in their yards. I am not about to kill anything- because I would never even get that close-and I am not the killer type… but I would love to know if there is a simple, easy, natural SAFE way to deter snakes from my yard. I have kids & dogs, so it has to be safe for them too. I saw some pellets, but I don’t knwo if that is a gimmick or if anyone has tried them and they really work…THANKS!!
Okay, to some of the posters below: I said I do not like snakes, but I would NEVER kill one and I’m looking for a HUMANE option to deter them. Please answer with intelligence and relevance to the question.

repel dog
I’m in a condo and my neighbors don’t pick up their dogs droppings infront of my grassy unit. I’m really not sure if it’s them or not; just an assumption. I really want to catch the person in the act so I can tell them to pick it up.
I have a dog, but I take care of the responsibilty.
I was wondering if anyone of you has ever used a dog repel to prevent dogs from doing their business. Is it harmful? Is it effective? What are good types/brands to work with?

Like do they see who all lives there, if they have dogs, what times they are gone..? Or do alot of people just break in randomly? I just moved into a bad neighborhood unfortunately. And when I was moving stuff inside I saw some neighbors checking out my electronic stuff, and not checking it out in a good way. I have a pit and a mastiff that they havent seen yet. Not that my dogs would do a thing but hopefully would scare someone away,

I have a dog who’s 3 year old, who barks constantly at night and my neighbors are really ticked off because she wakes them up. I’ve tried shock collars, bark deterrents, and spraying it with water when she barks, but they haven’t worked. what should I do to make her stop barking at night?

Several of my neighbors have cats. These kitties have taken to digging around in my flower beds. My dog offers them no deterrent as she likes to "play" with them.
I’ve heard that pepper spray and even just sprinkled peppercorns can deter some animals. Is this a safe option? I’d rather not resort to chemicals or stand guard over my plants and asking neighbors to keep their cats under control is just silly. Are there better options?
I also have a neighbor dog that constantly escapes and knocks over the garbage cans in the alley. I was considering spraying the cans and the surrounding area with it too.
I’m not going to spray the ANIMALS! I’m going to spray the ground and plants! This isn’t the kind of pepper spray used for self-defense. Did you read my question. Obviously, I’m looking for a safe option.
The section they have been digging is full of daffodils. lol!

I’ve collected about 150,000 glow in the dark watches, if I scrape off the luminous stuff will I have the needed radioactive material for a standard fission bomb or will I be stuck making one of those limp wristed and silly "dirty" devices?
I’m tired of my neighbors dog coming over here.
