I have a 3 year old neutered shi-poo. We moved at the beginning of the year to a new home that has a wooden deck that we keep our grill on. We originally noticed the dog peeing on the leg of the grill because of the snow on the ground around it was yellow. I am not sure if he did this before at the old house because the grill was in the back yard and I didn’t pay attention to it.
I bought a spray deterrent that worked occasionally, but now instead of peeing on the grill leg he has taken to peeing on the outside of the sliding glass door. I have sprayed the deterrent there and on the wood. I have scolded him, held his nose close to it (not in it) and put him in his kennel.
If I stand watch he doesn’t do it, but as soon as no one is watching he does it again.
Please help we are at our wits end. He has also begun barking more and become more nippy since the move but seems to be adjusting more except for the peeing thing.
I like feeding small wild sparrows and blackbirds in the park….but the dog owners think they own the place and let their dogs run wild, poo and pee, and torment the birds while I am feeding them.
What is a good, strong, natural dog repellent that will keep the dogs away, while not bugging the birds that I can conceal??
Very creative ideas welcome!!!!
Im thinking nice hot pepper seeds in a colourful toy or biscuit carefully planted….natures protection?
I noticed the wild birds are very careful what they eat…
Oh, yes..anything harmless that would induce yelping, and that is concealable would be appreciated
last comment: Its not hypocritical to want to repel unleashed dogs away from a small greenspace. I would never harm *any* animal. Wild Birds have a hard life, they are small, exposed, and live a short life. They have a right to greenspace as well(probably even more so). Human domesticated animals ruin the planet everywhere. (I also think keeping parrots as pets is wrong, but thats a whole other issue. Why do Parrots go nuts? Their habitat was totally destroyed by humans and replaced by cattle in central/South America…they don’t belong in cages they belong in a wild rainforest)

For more of our videos, please visit us at www.stevehasballs.com The distinctive odor of feces is due to bacterial action. Gut flora produce compounds such as indole, skatole, and thiols (sulfur containing compounds), as well as the inorganic gas hydrogen sulfide. These are the same compounds that are responsible for the odor of flatulence. Consumption of foods with spices may result in the spices being undigested and adding to the odor of feces. Certain commercial products exist that claim to reduce the odor of feces[citation needed]. The perceived bad odor of feces has been hypothesized to be a deterrent for humans, as consumption or touching it may result in sickness or infection. [citation needed] Of course, human perception of the odor is a subjective matter; for an animal that eats feces, it might well smell wonderful!
