    THANK YOU SIR !

I’m sorry sir, but that improvement can’t be done the way you said. That wouldn’t be cool!

I’m 19 years old and as most teenagers I can still hear up to 19 ~ 20 KHz..

    16, 17, 18 KHz sound at 120db would cause serious damages…

Oscillating from 25 KHz to 65 KHz would be ok, I think..

Your idea for improvements seems logical to me. Having just been charged by two dogs with my three small kids i would want to purchase one that would deter ALL dogs not just some.

There are several Ebay sellers that have good prices on stun guns. I bought one for my daughter that is rechargeable and has a 1.3million volt output. I tested it on the cats and the dog, they didn’t like it. You will have to check the local laws for the legality of carrying one. Some places don’t allow the possession of such items. And I’m not sure how many times they can be discharged before the probes are damaged. But, a stun gun will work as good or better than a dog dazer.

TOTAL B-S! Just bought this worthless piece of plastic. Even tried it on my own puppy (a 5-month old maltese for cryin’ out loud!) and all he does is sit and look at it wondering what it is! He even comes closer to lick it!!!
Thanks guys – feel really safe now!!! What a waste of money!!

you are right, some dogs don’t respond. another problem may be the contact switch doesn’t work. I had to make it longer with a little bit of glue. Or your battery may be low.

@cyberphan it seems like the button is working since when i press it while pointing the Dazer to my ear (!), and i can hear the irritating high frequency myself.
Of course, the point is not to “irritate” a human ear – it’s to get dogs to leave! This piece of junk just gets my dog wondering what he’s hearing!! Greeeeaaat….
As for the battery, I’ll get a new one to try it out.. However, i would’ve thought that it either works, or doesn’t, so what’s the bat level got to do with anything?)

battery power decreases rapidly as it is used. Some batteries have a somewhat level discharge rate and then the power drops quickly. Try it on other dogs. Or a cat. They really hate those things.

@cyberphan i’ll look into it tomorrow – but what I meant by what I asked about the bat level is, if the bat’s dying, wouldn’t it just stop working altogether? I mean, is it possible for decreased bat level to make it work at a “weaker” signal strength, or would it just not work at all?

  • By cyberphan, March 2, 2010 @ 12:28 am

that might be the problem. get a good quality battery and try it out on the neighborhood dogs. The dog may just get a funny look or just start to walk away. Every dog reacts differently.

@cyberphan Well, I got a new battery, and yes, it sounds louder even to my own ear. However, i tried it on a neighbor’s dog (from outside the fence), but it just look like it was just getting even more pissed off than it usually is & started growling! It definitely wasn’t walking away though!!
It’s supposed to be a dog repellent and not a dog aggravator right?

You know what I added to mine?
    A gun.
    Dogs don’t like that.

That’s great, I wish I had thought of that.
